Nike Dunk Low Venice W

Sale price€239,00

The Nike Dunk Low Light Violet Venice W is a special version of the classic Nike Dunk sneaker inspired by the Italian city of Venice. The idea for the shoe came about through a collaboration between Nike and an Italian fashion and sneaker shop called Slam Jam.

The history of the Nike Dunk dates back to the 1980s when the shoe was first released and quickly became popular among basketball players and sneaker lovers. In the following decades, the Dunk became a classic in sneaker culture and inspired many other designs and variants.

In 2021, Nike decided to relaunch the Dunk and worked with different partners to create special versions of the shoe. One of those partnerships was with Slam Jam, an Italian fashion and sneaker shop based in Ferrara.

Slam Jam had previously worked with Nike and was known for its avant-garde designs and innovative concepts. When the opportunity came up to work with Nike on a new Dunk design, Slam Jam jumped at the chance and suggested taking inspiration from the city of Venice.

The city of Venice is considered one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in the world and is known for its architecture, art and history. Seeing Venice as an ideal source of inspiration, Slam Jam and Nike began exploring the city and drawing inspiration from its various aspects.

They visited museums, churches, squares and streets and collected impressions and ideas for the design of the shoe. They were inspired by the magnificent architecture and colorful houses that line Venice's canals, and by the period costumes and masks worn in Carnival celebrations.

The design of the Nike Dunk Low Light Violet Venice W was inspired by these different aspects of Venice. The shoes come in a vibrant purple hue reminiscent of the colors of Venetian masks and feature a textured finish reminiscent of the tiled patterns of Venetian palaces.

The shoe has also been equipped with various details that refer to Venice. The word "Venice" can be seen on the tongue of the shoe and a map of Venice is depicted on the insole. The shoe was produced in a limited edition and is very popular with sneaker fans all over the world.
