Hinter einer Glasbox in den Regalen von Dior, werden die Details und die Handwerkskunst dieses Sneakers deutlich.

Die in Italien hergestellte und von Hand bemalte Kult-Silhouette, ist eine Hommage an Diors Exzellenz und Savoir-faire im Bereich Lederwaren und lässt sich gleichzeitig vom reichen Erbe des Jumpman inspirieren.

Es war unvermeidlich, dass Dior Menswear Creative Director Kim Jones sich dem Sportgiganten anschloss, insbesondere nachdem er schon in jungen Jahren seine Liebe zur Jordan Brand hatte. In einem Video hinter den Kulissen der Entstehung der Zusammenarbeit gewährt der Designer den Zuschauern Einblicke in seine eigene Kollektion, die letztendlich die neu veröffentlichte Kollektion inspirierte, von der viele Sneaker heutzutage äußerst selten sind.

Zusammen mit dem führenden Schuhdesigner von Dior Men, Thibo Denis, und Martin Lotti, Vizepräsident für Design bei Jordan Brand, taucht das Trio tief in den Designprozess und die sorgfältige Herstellung des Schuhs ein, mit Materialien, die sie „noch nie zuvor verwendet“ haben.

Wie man es von einem Luxusprodukt erwarten würde, ist jedes Detail von Hand genäht, genäht und bemalt, sogar das Futter unter der Socke ist mit dem Dior-Oblique versehen.

Aber wie Kim Jones feststellt, würde eine einzelne Veröffentlichung des Air Jordan 1 High nicht ausreichen, vielmehr wäre eine ganze Kollektion passender, um Michael Jordan wirklich zu huldigen.
