The Air Jordan 4 Retro Red Thunder is a reissue of the original Air Jordan 4 shoe, first released in 1989. Designed by legendary shoe designer Tinker Hatfield, the shoe was the first Jordan shoe to be sold worldwide.

The Air Jordan 4 was also the first shoe in the Jordan line to feature the signature overmolded mesh. Another notable feature of the Air Jordan 4 OGs was the Nike Air logo on the heel, a nod to the way Jordan always seemed to defy gravity, even on the court. The Air Jordan 4 had four colorways: White/Grey, Black/Grey, White/Red, and White/Blue.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro Red Thunder reissue follows a similar color scheme to the popular Air Jordan 4 Thunder, originally released in 2006 and relaunched in 2012. The retro shoe features an all-black Durabuck upper with red mesh underlays and eyelets. A signed Air Jordan Flight patch is sewn on the tongue. A bright red midsole and Jumpman heel pull glass completes the design.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro Red Thunder is also known under the name Crimson. It features a similar colorway to the Air Jordan 4 Thunder, but with red accents instead of the original Tour Yellow accents. These red accents are found on the molded eyelets and inside the shoe.
